Marco Matute

THE HONDURAN FIRECRACKER

Born in Tela, Honduras, Marco learned early that life with color and music is more brilliant and certainly more exciting. As a teenager, Marco grew up in choir both in school at in community groups and churches. Choral work allowed for many types of musical experiences like madrigals, Jazz Choir, Spirituals and classical (of all sorts).  As a High School Sophomore, Marco impressed two gentlemen form The Vocal Arts Foundation named John Mace and Richard Dorr. Upon testing his voice in an invite to their vocal studio, Marco was awarded a lifetime vocal scholarship and began a training regiment that would allow for a technique and  artistic expression that would separate him and vocal color from many. At he same time, he met musical director and Tony Award Winning Conductor Shepard Coleman (The Rat Pack, Hello Dolly!). whom he apprenticed with in musical theater.

Upon a conversation with his voice teacher Richard Dorr, he was told of one of their personal friends who created a technique for acting, the great Sanford Meisner and attended the esteemed acting school The William Esper studio where he trained with Suzanne Esper.

Wanting to grow and learn more of the entertainment business, Marco partnered with The Montgomery Group in New York and embarked on a journey representing photographers, hair & make-up artists and stylists. During this time in his late teens/early twenties, Marco learned from his business mentor Ernest Montgomery that consistent and diligent good work begets good results. At The Montgomery Group Marco excelled as a junior agent and later leading the beauty division made an impact representing artists servicing acts like Britney Spears, N'SYNC, Bon Jovi, Jay-Z and many others, many advertising campaigns with agencies in NY, Chicago and San Francisco and also learned from working with many editorial companies such as Conde Nast, Hearst and others. Learning from this experience, Marco pursued his No. 1  passion, that  of music and opened his boutique record label M27 in 2003. Released a no. 1 Latin Jazz album "Steppin' with T.P." by the great late hilton Ruiz featuring Dave Valentin and Yomo Toro . Marco continues to produce art of the highestorder and most recently began a beautiful recording of "EL CONDOR PASA: Andean Hope" composed by Dante Valdez and performed by the United Nations Symphony Orchestra.
